Chenango Place, Binghamton, New York’s newest full-service waterfront student housing complex in the heart of downtown Binghamton, was completed in 2014. The four-story structure is a 160 year old historic building which had to be renovated to National Park Service guidelines for Historic Buildings. The edifice formerly housed a spice trading company, cigar factory, furniture and department stores and the first offices for IBM. Construction was completed in only 10 months. From the in-unit laundry to the "Soho" loft-style floor plans, every aspect of Chenango Place has been designed for the modern, sophisticated student. The project consists of 48 apartment units containing 178 bedrooms. There are also the associated common spaces scattered throughout the building, such as a gym, private theater, study lounges, and a game room. The historic nature of the building gives it unique character and helps to revitalize the city. |
