Office space for National Park Service | Parking Garage
Built in April of 1992, construction was completed in only five months, despite the poor availability of skilled labor and local materials. The structure is a two-story, 37,000 square foot office building with a parking garage and radio tower. Occupants and regional facilities managers have remarked that it is “the nicest building in the Park Service.” The Park Service’s lease was renewed in 2012, including a complete retrofit of the building, bringing it up to LEED standards. Modern systems and sustainable materials were installed around the agency’s working schedule, resulting in zero downtime for the tenant. Working on nights and weekends, and by rotating occupants in and out of spare conference rooms, the $2.2 million project was completed in only six months. |
